Brand Library & Art Center and the Brand Associates are pleased to present Brand 54: 54th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper. This year’s annual exhibition will feature artworks from around the country chosen by juror Tracy Bartley.

Painted plein air, in late summer in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Feathery brush strokes and a certain glow of the underpainting enliven the landscape with birdsong and energy in a synesthesia effect. Layering of casein and watercolor marks echo the stacked elements of the landscape.
